Disappointments Will Happen
People will let you down. The leader will disappoint you. Even the greatest leaders, your parents.
I can think of 3 times I really wanted outcomes to be different in my life. These specific times I was believing for someone else to change.
Father to change his hardened heart.
Father had a devastating stoke.
Following my parents divorce two months later.
These are just a few. Maybe you look and say that’s no big deal. These each had insurmountable amounts of pain.
- Prayed!
- Believed!
- Trusted God!
- Quoted scripture!
One thing I did have control over was my mind and how much I would allow the circumstances to dictate my happiness.
Life is not black and white. But I have learned so much about myself and others. that has colored my lenses.
I most importantly learned to TRUST IN the Lord.
Believe even when you cannot see the entire picture before you.
Just because people get away with lying and stealing and all kinds of evil doesn’t mean it goes unnoticed by our Father God!
I’m on HIS side. He always vindicates his people. It just may not be when you want it.
Hold on to PEACE
Walk in truth

Question:
How do you hold onto the Truth when all feels crazy around you?
Personally, I remind myself what God has done.
God has:
Healed me of a bowel disease at 19 years old
When I pray mountains have moved and my finances shifted
Laid my hands on my sick child and sickness left
In business, money owed to us check in mail box that day
Used me and my family where ever we go to encourage people
Speaks to my broken and healed it
Salvation to many
Psalm 34: 1-22
1 I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises.
2 I will boast only in the Lord;
let all who are helpless take heart.
3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness;
let us exalt his name together.
4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
7 For the angel of the Lord is a guard;
he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
9 Fear the Lord, you his godly people,
for those who fear him will have all they need.
10 Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, and listen to me,
and I will teach you to fear the Lord.
12 Does anyone want to live a life
that is long and prosperous?
13 Then keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies!
14 Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
15 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right;
his ears are open to their cries for help.
16 But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil;
he will erase their memory from the earth.
17 The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed
19 The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
20 For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous;
not one of them is broken!
21 Calamity will surely destroy the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous will be punished.
22 But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
The heart aches have taught so much throughout my disappointments. Now I know who God is. I have learned to pour my heart to him when I don’t like the results.
Sometimes believing is seeing the truth. The truth can be unpleasant.
Romans 5:5
Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
The promise is if we are still alive change can happen. People will always mess up. Even mess up (lol)
- Failed at times
- Lost hope
- WE ALL DO
-Make room for errors-
BUT I have learned to quickly PIVOT and TRUST the one who made me!!!
Hold onto Cling onto the Way Maker!!!!
He holds the keys to your future and remind yourself greatness ahead of you!
Fix your eyes on Jesus!!!
He will never let you down!
Encourage someone today!!!
